African Diaspora Is the term commonly used to describe the mass dispersion of people from Africa during the TransAtlantic Slave Trades, from the 1500s to the 1800s. This Diaspora took millions of people from Western and Central Africa to different regions throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, and the World.

On Saturday, February 18, 2023, The Eastgate Park Walking Trail will be transformed into this African Diaspora Route to demonstrate where many of these African Ancestors landed.

This event will serve our organization's

educational and physical activity initiatives.

The 1865
April 8, 2023 | 6:00 pm | The Grand on Foster | Dothan, AL

Join us for a Western/African night of celebration, music, acknowledgements, poetry, and fun at The Grand on Foster as we raise funding for the annual Juneteenth Expo & Parade Celebration. "The 1865" will feature Legends & Preludes of the Tri-State as Honorees, Live music by the Los Locos Band, and Guest Speaker Shaniqua Rose of Orlando, Florida.

This formal, Western/African attire event will be held at The Grand on Foster in beautiful Downtown Dothan. Every purchased "1865" ticket assists in bringing quality programming, entertainment, historical artifacts, and persons to the AL Southeast Region, as well as the multiple scholarships and awards distributed to area youth & other non-profit organizations.

As a thank you for attending "The 1865", each ticket purchased will give access to TSE Membership, "The 1865" event, two (2) bar tickets, and elevated dining experience.

Each year "The 1865 Gala" will have a theme to highlight the year's creative goals and mission. The theme for 2023 is "The Westward Expansion".  We are highlighting the trailblazing, historical works of the 9th & 10th Calvary Regiments of the African-American soldiers through their connection with the Indian War & Protecting Wagon Trains heading West.

We encourage all patrons to interpret & internalize the theme as desired through Hair, Fashion & Design!
